Stop Overthinking it, and Start Overdoing it.
Black Woman on a Mission exists for one reason - I didn’t give it enough time talk myself out of it.
So my mantra for 2024 is - I’m not overthinking it, I’m overdoing it. Because if I’ve thought about it 3 times, it’s time to take some action. You can read 100 books and listen to 100 hours of podcasts, but information is useless without action.
Experience is an incredible teacher, and I’m ready to learn from her in 2024. I’m releasing myself from the fear of trial and error and opening my mind to the art of learning by doing.
I’m tired of the anxiety produced by analysis paralysis, constantly examining a problem and never conceptualizing a solution. It’s like having an open wound and standing around screaming while you think of how to treat it. Let’s make a decision and cover this thing up before it bleeds out.
We’re bleeding creativity, ideas, dreams, hopes, ambitions - at times so much so that we let our ideas flatline, and we say to our dream - you can’t be saved.
What a disservice that is to ourselves and the world. I believe so heavily in the power of our gifts and talents to create change and beauty in a world that’s in desperate need of it. But so many of us are running scared.
(Please remember, this is a sermon to myself first, so if I’m being preachy, just know I’m my own choir of one.)
